Archaeological Field Technicians - Utah

EcoPlan Associates, Inc., a natural and cultural resources consulting firm with headquarters in Mesa, Arizona, is accepting applications for qualified archaeological field technicians for the 2019 field season in Utah. The ideal applicant will have a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in anthropology and a minimum of six months of experience in archaeological survey, prehistoric and historic-period site documentation, use of handheld GPS units for site mapping, and site form preparation.

All applicants must be able to walk up to 12 miles per day in difficult terrain and extreme weather carrying a 20-pound pack. Some surveys will require overnight camping in remote locations. EcoPlan especially values a commitment to effective communication, teamwork, and quality in all aspects of archaeological fieldwork, including mapping, note taking, and digital photography.

Hourly wage will vary depending on experience and education; lodging and per diem will be paid. EcoPlan will give first consideration to applicants available before September 1st, residents of Utah and/or those with substantial Great Basin and/or Southwestern field experience.
