Temporary Field Supervisor in Nebraska

In response to historically devastating flooding that occurred in Nebraska in March 2019, the Nebraska State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) is forming a temporary group of archeological technicians to help farmers with section 106 surveys of their fields prior to field restoration, reimbursed by the Farm Service Agency. The group of techs will be supervised by the Archeological Field Supervisor. Under supervision by the NeSHPO Preservation Archeologist, this person will conduct all tasks relating to the completion of reconnaissance archeological surveys and minimal site testing associated with Section 106 Review and Compliance projects. This position requires the supervision of archeological field technicians in-field and/or laboratory related tasks.

This is a full-time, temporary position for the summer. There will be travel throughout the week. Hotel rooms will be paid for by the SHPO and meals reimbursed. Free housing during the course of this assignment will be provided by the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, if needed.
