Norcan Consulting ltd is seeking Field Archaeologist for the 2018 field season for work throughout Central British Columbia. These are temporary, hourly positions and the candidates will typically work 40 hours per week depending on workload. Work will commence in May of 2018. When project travel is required, per diem, hotel room accommodations, and field vehicles are provided. Project travel time is paid from specified marshalling points. Pay rate will be based on individual qualifications and experience.

Job Responsibilities
Work in the field under the supervision of the field director in the performance of archaeological fieldwork;
Conduct archaeological survey, testing, data recovery,  and/or construction monitoring;
Document field methods and results using field forms, digital photography, and sketches;
Contribute to team efforts during cultural resources field;
Take initiative, resolving problems, and creating improved procedures to assure tasks are completed in the most effective manner; and Assist with mapping responsibilities in the field, including collection of GPS.

Job Qualifications
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Anthropology or Archaeology. 
Participation in an accredited field school or equivalent experience.
Six months experience working as a field archaeologist.

Experience with the application of standard archaeological field techniques.
Ability to travel and be able to conduct fieldwork for long hours, sometimes in inclement weather conditions, often in rugged terrain, and be able to carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds. Being physically fit is a must.
