Stephen,

I believe I can recall a post made some time ago, stating the couplers were made of an alloy called "Zamac 3".

Hopefully this is still somewhere in the archives.

Best of luck.

Hello all,

I'm a Sergent user and I am running out of certain versions, so I came here to learn about those who are 3D printing their own couplers.  Going back to Kadee is not an option!

I model Western Maryland in 1975 and a few other small distractions.

Re: Couplers

Hey Mr. Sergent

Do you see any possibility to try these strong resins as a possible future product on your website?

If it takes some pre-investments into a printer or something i have an idea: what if we bring together all the orders from the people who want some (double-shelf, long shank what so ever) and then see how much we bring together?
a really hope there will be a solution to this!

Hello,

I have been transferred to this group from the former Yahoo Groups forum.

I have used Sergent couplers for over 10 years now and would like to keep up to date on the future of the couplers. I'm especially interested in following the work being done on the investment-cast couplers as I have used them extensively.

Thanks,

David Taylor

I contacted you on YouTube via comment about these couplers and recently joined the group. If you could help me secure long lower shelf sergents for my center partitions and double shelfs for my tank cars I would be very grateful. Please let me know what I need to do to accommodate this request! Thank you!

For those that contacted me regarding testing the printed couplers, they will be going out in the mail tomorrow.  I have all of them printed and cured, just need to package them up and send them out.  Josh, I never got an address for you.  Contact me off list and I'll send you a set to test.

Sorry about the delay. I had hoped to get them out last week, but with full time job, church and community service, and five kids at home, time is in short supply and sometimes things just don't get done.

Re: Assembled Sergent Couplers available

David Colvin

Okay.
First set of couplers freed up.  Sorry for the delay.  Sean will be posting pics tonight.  You can go directly through him as I'm letting him handle it from here on out.  Looks like there are many assembled ones, plus already weathered and prepped supplies for assembly of another big batch of couplers.

So if you have asked directly before, you'll need to ask Sean once he posts tonight.

Jeremy, I tried to mail you off list but I don't think groups.io played nicely. I'd like the HO scale lot - can you mail me at steve_wintner at yahoo dot com ?

Thanks

Type F tightlock couplers

Does anyone happen to have about 35 pair (at least) of the Type F couplers preferably with the M040 shank? I have a train of RD4s that needs them

EC64 have sold.

Lot two asking price is $35 + S&H

Walthers G85 flatcar

Alden G. McBee

Adding Sergent couplers to the new Walthers G85 flatcar is really easy. The trim piece at each end needs to be removed by lightly prying with a #17 blade toward each end, as they are lightly glued. There are 2 pegs that align it. Couplers drop in and are at the correct height. One end is may be slightly tight and need the coupler box lid filed slightly thinner. The trim piece may be a press fit or may need minimal glue when replacing it.

John Degnan

If the EC64 couplers are the NEW (improved) style than I'll take them.  If they are the old (original) style, I don't want them.

Thanks.
