I have had terrible trouble with Yahoo over the last week, and I am in 41 groups I would be more than happy to move now.

I think that is a wonderful idea and don’t think you should wait. I have a number of groups that I’m a member of and it is impossible for me to access any information on their Yahoo pages.

Thanks for your input JZ. Sorry that I missed you at the National Narrow Gauge Convention in Denver.

John,

Thanks for being proactive about forming the new group in groups.io. I've long believed Yahoo is a lost cause, and we're using this technology on borrowed time. IMHO, the sooner we leave Yahoo behind, the better.

I'll vote for moving now, we dont lose functionality and Yahoo Groups is basically dead.

I strongly support a move to groups.io NOW. I think the threat to healthy continuance of Yahoo groups is real and I
much prefer the options and reading formats available at groups.io.

Be well,

Whenever you want/need to make the move, fine with me.  The Proto 48 group moved to IO last year with no hiccups.  The S scale Yahoo group is looking at options away from Yahoo now.

IMO..we should be pro-active on this and switch/sign up at the groups.io site....soon.
I have done this with a few other Yahoo groups I belong to and it is easy and seamless.

Hello All

While following (with interest) discussions on other groups, about the problems and possible shutdown of Yahoo. I have started a new group on groups.io https://groups.io/g/SergentEngineering . For now, I will not do anything with this group. I’m merely trying to be proactive in case Yahoo does go away. If and when the time comes, I can have all the members, discussions, photo’s and files transferred to the new group.

Is there any interest in doing this now?

Jim,

Resin Car Works has just announced a coupler box. Could you speculate on the differences or similarities to your coupler box? Here is a link to their product announcement.

Jim,

I would rather be told it is coming out and then be early, then the later.  It seems like most of the time the release date is missed.

The release date for new Kadee/Sergent coupler boxes in yesterday’s announcement was incorrect.  It should have read “second week of February”, not March.  Somehow, I missed a month!  The web page has also been corrected (see link below).
