No problem, I had to search too!  When I couldn't find it in old messages, I tried YouTube.  There are others but this one isn't bad.

Mike,

Thanks for the link. Will check it out.

Perhaps I should have searched YouTube before posting the question. Unfortunately, this old dog is not so computer literate.

COUPLER ASSEMBLY VIDEOS

Bill Keene

Hello Group,

Some time back there was a thread on the group that provided link(s) to videos showing how to assemble the Sergent couplers. I have searched -- I am not all that good at this function -- the messages and files for these links without success. Now that my stock of assembled couplers is down to zero, it is time to learn how to assemble these little wonders.

Can someone on the list provide the link(s) to these videos? There are 70 freight cars awaiting to join knuckles.

Thanks & Cheers,
Bill Keene

That looks like a good color, will be interested in how it holds up in operation.

Here is a photo of the painted couplers and the paint I used. I did not have to "buff" the exterior of the couplers ad you should do with Rustoleum,  since the Tamiya paint is flat and has very fine pigments, so there is no rough surface.
Sorry for the poor cell phone photos.

Hi all.  I have been using Sergent Couplers for I'll guess ten years.  I've infected alot of people with these couplers and now they are the only coupler they use.  Many, only on engines and cabooses but that will spread.  My brother has bought them by the bulk paks and has equipped everything.  To the people that think they arn't good for long trains.  My brother runs 120 car trains Sergent Equipped no problems.  Please don't ever stop making them I will be lost.

Mark, I'd like to see some photos of your results using the selected paint... and would like to know how you applied it.

Thanks.

First, thanks for moving this group to this new format. Glad to be proactive.
Yesterday I finished building 3 pair of RNC87K narrow shank HOn3 couplers...my first Sergents.
These are to be installed on Rail Line box/stock cars.
Instead of using Frank's recommended Rustoleum primer, I used Tamiya #TS-1, Red Brown, in a spray can. I liked the more subdued color
...more realistic.
Looking forward to converting all my Blackstone rolling stock to Sergents.

I use Sergent HO couplers on my On30 mining tram.  They look great and work perfectly!

First post too;

I have some rolling stock converted to Sergents – and a lot of other rolling stock I’m vacillating about.   Pre-assembled made the conversion a lot easier for me.

Hi-

After using sergent couplers at a friends house, I was sold!   I just got my first package in the mail and I will be converting all my HOn3 rolling stock over to them.  I am also glad to see that this group is moving here.

Thanks again

Hello, my name is Paul and I’m planning on building a switching layout (17 x 17’) based on the Southern Pacific. I’m really looking forward to switching all of my Rolling Stock to Sergent Engineering couplers.

This is my introductory post as requested.
I've not yet taken the plunge to convert to Sergent, but I'm still very impressed with the prototype accuracy.
So, I'd like to keep informed.
