The Publisher & Editor of As-Seerah.com Jawed Anwar had also been publisher and editor of dailymuslims.com , Don Valley News, Monthly news Magazine from Toronto in 2011, Publisher and Editor of theMuslim.ca, Toronto, Canada from 2007 to 2012, Publisher and Chief Editor of Muslims Weekly (Print edition), New York, USA from 1999 to 2006, and Publisher and Managing Editor of Monthly DATALOG Magazine (print) from Karachi, Pakistan from 1988 to 1997. Columnist of Daily Jasarat (Urdu newspaper from Karachi, Pakistan) in 1990s, Sub editor Takbeer Weekly from Karachi, Pakistan (1987-1988), Contributed columns and articles for Jang, Dawn, and The News.

–In 2003, Muslims Weekly New York won six awards presented by the Independent Press Association, New York; an association of all ethnic and community newspapers. Muslims Weekly won Best Photograph, Best Re-Design, Second Best Editorial/Commentary, Second Best Article on Immigrant Issues, Second Best in Overall Layout/Design and Third Best in Layout/Design under the category of “newspapers of New York under the circulation of 25,000.”
Jawed Anwar won the second place award for Best Article on Immigrant Issues and the Best Photograph Award.
—In 2005, Jawed Anwar was awarded third place for Best Editorial Award in the Editorial Category.
