Below is an email from the Scottish Genealogy Group of the Illinois St. Andrew Society. Its meetings are held in North Riverside, IL. However, even if you can't get to the meetings (I can't), its newsletter in the past has provided useful information on Scottish genealogy. (See the attachment on Maureen Brady's presentation at the meeting last October on Family Search.) Meetings are held at the Scottish Home, 2800 Des Plaines Ave., North Riverside, IL 60546. Dues are on a calendar year basis, Jan. 1 through Dec. 31. A membership form is attached. We will be meeting at the Scottish Home in Heritage Hall at 10 am. Tina Beaird will be our speaker, and will be presenting on Areas of Research in Scotland that are Adjacent to Property Records, a nice in depth topic. For this meeting, due to the on-going issues with Covid, we will need to wear masks. Because of this, we won't have refreshments for this meeting. Also we will need to come in to Heritage Hall around the east side of the building, and take the outside elevator down to the Hall. They should have signs posted to help direct. For our April meeting, we are going to have a memorial service for Jackie Torrance. I would invite anyone who would like to, to prepare some thoughts to share, or if you have pictures or other items to remember Jackie, that you bring them to share. She was the glue of the group for 25 years, I am sure we all have some fond or funny memories of Jackie. Hopefully by April infection rates will be much less and we won't need masks. Also please think about what you can do to help our group continue. We have a volunteer for the newsletter, but they need content. We also need someone to keep track of membership, someone to take charge of the library, someone to help organize our part of the Highland Games and someone to coordinate snacks for the meetings. In lieu of a newsletter for our last Zoom meeting, I am attaching Maureen's handout. I also attaching a membership form. Since we are meeting in person, we are going to start collecting dues again.
