I am Duncan Donald McGruther a DNA relative of the above, who appears to have been deported by Cromwell circa 1648/52 to Maryland, reportedly after the Battle of Worcester and via Barbados. This may be mere conjecture. He was described in USA as a poor Scottish prisoner of war who was indentured on arrival in Maryland.  Research has shown however that his family had considerable access to wealth and connections, his brothers both being Chamberlains to the Duke of Perth and his brother, such that McGruder almost immediately acquired property in America. There is much known about him, his ancestors and descendants, but the missing link is proof of the Battle in which he was captured, and any ship on which he was transported. If anyone has come across his name I would be delighted to correspond.
