The offer expires on April 30, 2020. For a coupon, once place to go is: https://www.groupon.com/coupons/ancestry. There are other sites offering coupons too.

FYI: Ancestry is also offering discounts on memberships. I found some coupons on https://www.groupon.com/coupons/ancestry.

The New England Historic Genealogical Society (NEHGS) is offering a post-DNA test consultation with a NEHGS genealogist to go over your DNA test results and how to apply those results to your family history research. There is a cost involved and may only be available to members of NEHGS, but to find out more information go to: https://shop.americanancestors.org/products/post-test-consultation

NEHGS is also offering a Virtual course - "Using DNA in Your Family History Research." The cost is about $25.00. I am not sure if this is only available to members of NEHGS, but to find out and get more information go to: https://shop.americanancestors.org/.

On May 20, 2020 at 6 p.m., THERE IS A FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC virtual Author Event, sponsored in part by NEHGS. The author is Libby Copeland and she will be discussing "The Lost Family: How DNA testing is Upending Who We Are." Ms. Copeland will discuss the science of DNA, the business of companies like 23andMe and Ancestry, and she will use a case study as an example of using DNA in genealogical research. You must register on or before May 20, 2020. If interested go to: https://www.americanancestors.org/education/online-classes#lc

NEHGS's online genealogical database, AmericanAncestors.org, also guides/how to pages. If you are just getting started with your research, these can be a great way to learn at a glance what is available. Here is one that should be useful to SPOW descendants who are beginning their research in Massachusetts: https://www.americanancestors.org/education/learning-resources/read/massachusetts-guide

If you have trouble accessing some materials/courses discussed above on americanancestors.org, try signing up for a FREE guest membership. There are a lot of databases, webinars/seminars, etc. that are available with just a guest membership. To find out more, go to: https://www.americanancestors.org/index.aspx
