Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, American Redstart, Summer Tanager

A male Yellow-bellied Sapsucker was present Friday morning in the Middletown/Banker's Hill neighborhood of San Diego. It was immediately behind #3312 Front Street, which is bordering a canyon. This canyon can also be partly accessed a block away via the Spruce Street pedestrian suspension bridge. But otherwise a goodly amount of the habitat is in private yards. An adult male American Redstart continues along the east side of the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel next to Montgomery Field. Spends a bunch of time on or very close to the ground, near the fenced maintenance yard and garden debris filled dumpster. A female-type Summer Tanager continues in Old Trolley Barn Park in Normal Heights.
