Pelagic Cormorant

This morning (May 7) at around 10:30 a.m. while scanning the ocean from La Jolla, I had a single Pelagic Cormorant take off from about 100 yards offshore and head outward.  I was standing about a hundred yards north of Children's Cove at the time. The white patches on its sides were clearly visible as it became airborne.  I notice Unitt refers to debate as to whether they might possibly breed in the La Jolla area.  Maybe a good bird to keep a watch for.
