Harris Sparrow
Nancy Christensen
Early this morning I tried to locate the Harris Sparrow reported yesterday in El Cajon. The lady (Susan) is extremely nice and thrilled that people want to see the bird. Unfortunately, at 7:30 a work crew showed up to tear down the fence and put up a new one only a few feet from the feeders. Susan has now placed a pan of food and a pan of water as far from the fence project as possible where it can be seen from the street. She has promised to call me if the bird comes back, but she has no window view of the new feeder spot.
Her address is 631 Lipizzan Way, El Cajon. The new feed area is to the right of the driveway near some prostrate juniper plants. This neighborhood has no sidewalks. I would encourage folks to bird from the road, and not enter anyone’s yard. I did note that her property backed onto a yard on Garrison road that seemed to have many sparrows. I did not have a chance to bird around the neighborhood. Nancy Christensen Ramona A bird does not sing because it has an answer. It sings because it has a song. Chinese Proverb

Negative on the Harris’s Sparrow. The fence project involves grading, jack hammers, etc. Susan plans to keep filling the alternate feeders and will notify me if she sees the bird again.
