This morning from 10:45 to 11 am, the continuing male Eurasian wigeon was visible in the main channel at San Elijo Lagoon just SW of the intersection of Manchester & Ocean Cove.  Was unable to re-find the over-wintering male greater scaup that had been in the east basin, but around noon had a female in the west basin to the NE of the Seaside parking lot entrance (use caution if trying to cross the highway there!).  Although most winter ducks appear to still be present, other things appear to be on the move, with notable increases in numbers of stilts & avocets, and a good assortment of swallows - had 8 barn swallows heading north over the west basin, and over the east basin had 3 rough-winged swallows & at least 1 violet-green among the tree swallows (also seen by Kathy Aldern, & Jane Mygatt, as well as by Steve Perry who had up to 3 violet-green farther east adjacent to the mesa).  Kathy & Jane also reported 3 Lawrence's goldfinches along the trail Sta Inez to Sta Carina, & Steve Brad reported the continuing burrowing owl just NW of the pedestrian tunnel under the RR tracks NW from Rios Ave.
