Clay-colored Sparrow glut

Many of the record-high total of individual wintering Clay-colored Sparrows in the county were still present as of this past week, even though many of the Chippings they typically like to hang out with have started to fade away for the season. I've seen four different birds in the past four days, 21-24 March: Standley School (UTC), Camp Surf, Tierrasanta private property, and upper end campground Santee Lakes. Could go to Doyle Park tomorrow and perhaps make it 5 in five, to Guajome on Friday for 6 in six, and then to Cherokee Point on Saturday for perhaps 7 or 8 in seven.... Certainly unprecedented for March.
