The scheduled assault on the male Broad-billed Hummingbird at private yard feeders in Carmel Valley was a big success early this morning, Monday. The homeowner has very graciously offered a second viewing one morning this coming weekend at dawn if the bird remains several more days and is still present on Friday. I will be in touch with her, and if the bird continues I will do a post sometime on Friday announcing the next possible visit, which at this point would probably be dawn on Saturday. (Will make a post on Friday no matter what.)
