Today, Aug 26, there was an adult male Summer Tanager on "outer" Point Loma, where otherwise just a small trickle of migrants. Yesterday, the 25th, five Harris's Hawks continued in Jacumba, where also a new local record-count of 70 White-winged Doves and 2 continuing easterly White-breasted Nuthatches. Again, only a trickle of migrants (the most interesting being Willow Flycatcher, which is regular there). On Aug 24, a temporarily lowered pond at the Salt Works had a juvenile Semipalmated Sandpiper and a Lesser Yellowlegs. On 23 August, there were 2 juvenile Lesser Yellowlegs (with Greaters) in the Sea World section of the San Diego River channel, where also a locally high count of 6 Yellow-crowned Night-Herons.
