HUGO still at Mission Beach

Have been watching HUGO between lifeguard towers 19 and 20 for the past hour. Bird is flying solo for lunch today and doesn’t seem bothered by passerby. Currently at the west end (ocean side) of Portsmouth Court.

Good birding,

Lindsay Willrick

HUGO left Mission Beach around a half hour ago. Thought I had posted here, but I didn't. It could have gone to Robb Field judging by direction it went.

Gjon Hazard

Update: the pair has built a nest in the original eucalyptus tree (near eBird point). We'll see how they fare once the fair opens...

Watch for nesting Yellow-crowned Night-Herons in the trees along the south edge of the Del Mar Fairgrounds or across the river near the public works area.

The godwit was ridiculously obliging at 1320 foraging between lifeguard towers 19 and 20 as reported many times.

I need to sell my August Pelagic ticket due to surgery

Mark Stratton

Hi everyone,

I am having a Hip replacement surgery on 8/6/19 so I can not longer go on this trip.  I'm hoping someone can help me out here.  This is a $135 trip and since I will be out of work, I hope to get $100 for this ticket.  We can go down to the landing together to take care of this or I can do it myself, whichever you prefer.

Thank you,
Mark Stratton

Lazuli Bunting in Point Loma

Sara Baase Mayers

A female Lazuli Bunting was in our yard on Point Loma around 2PM (June 1).  From the SD Bird Atlas, it sounds like a "straggler," and I see none reported on eBird in Point Loma since May 16.  (Description: bunting size and bill, warm tan color with peachy breast, pale belly, and pale wing bars.)
