Rose-breasted Grosbeak male at San Diego Botanic Garden, 1 July 2019

This morning ~ 8:10 am, at the beginning of the monthly SD Botanic Garden bird walk led by Rita Campbell,  a male ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK  was found in the row eucalyptus along the west border of the main parking lot, first spotted by Eve Martin.  It was associated with what looked to be an adult female Black-headed Grosbeak with a young grosbeak closely following the female (we were not able to get a close look at the young bird, but perhaps photos will tell us more0.  The three grosbeaks then moved south to eucs behind the admin building, during which time some photos and a recording were made of the singing male RBGR.  The three then flew west in the direction of of the adjacent residential area.
