Calliope Hummingbird, Hermit Warbler, and Lawrence's Goldfinch on Flintkote

Hi,

While birding with Terry Hurst on Flintkote this morning, I spotted the previously reported male Calliope Hummingbird flying into some thin dead twigs on the lower part of a tree just a little past the Ranger's Station. Took three attempts over various parts of the morning between Terry, John Bruin and me to finally find it. We managed OK, but not great photos for the City Nature Challenge. Bird was buried in twigs and in the shade. We may have heard the female as well, but did not see it. The male moved lower and out of site and then returned to the same visible location three times while we were there.

Here are the GPS coordinates. It was on the northwest side of the road.

There was also at least one, possibly two Hermit Warblers in the darker colored pine tree behind the ranger's house. I believe Terry and John saw one earlier than I did in the large sycamore in front of the house. Distant photos obtained of that bird for the Nature Challenge.

There was also a pair of uncooperative Lawrence's Goldfinch by the Ranger's House.
