A immature Red-footed Booby was seen from the end of Sea Coast in Imperial beach this morning.
The bird was tan ( coffee with cream )color much as the bird seen on the bow of the Liberty last week. Also present were three Brown Boobies all adults.
A PomarineJaeger ( big tail spoons ) also flew by just outside the surf line. Two Parasitic Jaegers were seen tag teaming terns further out.
A Black Tern was seen at the far east end of Lower Otay Lakes. The mud flat still looks promising but only Red-necked Phalaropes (5), Western and Least Sandpipers were seen there today.
A check of north end of 13th. and 7th. st. in I.B. was in the mist of the San Diego-Coronado bike ride. Quick scans found one hundred or more Red-necked Phalaropes, and a good number of Black Skimmer chicks and fledglings.
