Nashville warbler in east Switzer Canyon

Martha Wild

Saw a Nashville warbler again, hopping in the regrowing willows at the bottom of the canyon. Also lots of oriole action in some eucalyptus where the canyon narrows to the northeast - at least 2 Bullock’s males with 2 females - possibly more, but hard to know if I was seeing the same ones moving between trees. Hooded orioles enjoying the large silk oak (Grevillea robusta - my guess) with it’s huge orange blossoms. In the same eucalyptus with the Bullock’s, two Western tanagers, a Townsend’s warbler, and an orange-crowned warbler. Very birdy day down there.

This morning at the 'stick pond' at Diary Mart Ponds there was a
single Brewer's Sparrow. Five photos here:

Also, the triangular region immediately south of the trail that begins
just south of the stick pond is now a flooded area jammed with herons
and egrets, including adult and young Black-crowned Night Herons,
Green Heron, Great Blue Heron, Great and Snowy Egrets.
