Lake Murray

Nothing world-shaking at Lake Murray this (Tues.) a.m., but two sightings maybe worth noting.  At around 8:45 a.m. there were 3 Eared Grebes in about 80% full breeding plumage busily feeding just NE of the boat dock at the Kiowa St. entrance, only about 50 yards from shore.  Might be of interest to anyone wanting a pic of an EAGR in breeding plumage.   Also, given that Brewer's Blackbirds seemed to be almost extirpated at Lake Murray, there were about a half dozen female BRBLs perched ion a tree near the concession stand.  No males to be seen anywhere.  Sorry, ladies.
