Camp Pendleton- Black Oystercatcher, Snow Geese, etc.

Hi all,

Spent the afternoon again on Camp Pendleton and managed to turn up a few interesting species. Made a quick stop at Lake O'Neill and saw the 6 SNOW GEESE that have been there for a few months. The water levels at the lake are extremely low, and not too much other waterfowl were around. Then at the Del Mar Beach Channel, the MEW GULLS continue. I was able to find a total of 9 (there were 7 back on Dec 13) along the beach, all quite close to the jetty. Along the jetty there was a sharp looking BLACK OYSTERCATCHER, likely the same bird that has been reported on the Oceanside jetties. There was also a single BROWN BOOBY perched on a buoy just outside the the mouth of Oceanside Harbor/Del Mar Channel.
