I am looking in having something built to hold Solar panels and dingy davits.

Just was wondering if someone had already had one designed to engineering specs

Hi Jean, I have no arch, but am installing dinghy davits and a flexible solar panel on an 80/20 frame above them this weekend.  I'll send pix when done.

That would be great bill much apricated I think your way will be the best not to rock the boat.

I think an arch would add too much wait someone convinced me of this guess arches are better for twin steering boats

Jim Kerney - SV/Blown Away - Sabre 402

I just found a SS bimini arch in the woods, asked the landowner if I could have it, and it was almost perfect size for my 402. I ordered a Renogy 175W flexible panel for $296 and a Victron175/15 charge controller for $100 (altE store). I then used PVC mesh, grommets and Velcro to sew a sling for it all. Pretty easy and nice solution which would easily fit on a 36.

Thx to all the contributors in the Forum (especially the Dave’s) for helping me avoid the $13K solution of arch, davits and hard panels! Nice light solution for under $400. If anyone is interested, I’ll write up a detailed explanation of the solution.

I just posted a detailed write up per your requests. Feel free to ping or call (207) 232-1443 with any questions. It was trial by fire for me so the design diagram is not perfectly aligned with the outcome, but so far its responded well to some tough conditions. The post is https://groups.io/g/SabreSailboat/message/74496   .

You would use a narrower bimini frame, but that 175W panel would easily fit on an S34 or S36...and actually looks small on the S402.

Bruce <Bsurvey@...>

I added port and starboard vertical posts between the last Bimini now am the stern pulpit top tail
Stiffened the entire Bimini
I have two 18 x 50 inch panels between the wish bone back stays and a single port and starboard outboard so they are pretty flat
