Save a Life this Sunday, June 2 - Blood Drive in memory of Ari Dougan

Claire Wolff

Blood Drive in honor of Ari Dougan a"h on Sunday, Jun 2 from 10 am - 3 pm
Arianna "Ari" Dougan was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma at the age of three. Ari received more than 200 units of blood during her eight year battle with cancer. She believed in random acts of kindness and her family wants to inspire others to give blood. This act of kindness ensures that blood will be available when other children, like Ari, need it to survive cancer treatment.
There are two ways to schedule an appointment:
1) call 1-800-733-2767
2) visit and enter "AriDougan"
Location: Congregation Shaare Emeth (Simcha Room),11645 Ladue Rd., St. Louis, MO 63141. Please enter through the South Entrance to access the Simcha Room.
In addition to the reward for the mitzvah, all presenting donors will receive a $5 Amazon gift card.

Kohn's Deli Sandwiches now available at Schnucks Clayton and Lindbergh/ Pizza Availability

Kline, Christopher

Good morning,

I am pleased to announce that beginning today we have expanded our Kohn's kosher deli sandwich offering to the Schnucks at Clayton and Lindbergh location. Until we determine demand levels we will be offering three options at this location: Killer Pastrami sandwich, Corn Beef Sandwich and the new "Top Shelf" Premium Sub Sandwich. The "Top Shelf" will now be available at Ladue Crossing and Chesterfield locations as well.

Additionally, today will be the first day that Kosher Take n Bake pizzas will be available every day at the Ladue Crossing store. Production scheduling has been increased to assure availability every day so any night can be pizza night, especially on game night! A big thank you to our partners at the Vaad Hoeir for helping make this possible.

Remember that today and tomorrow kosher rotisserie chicken and kosher sushi will be available at Ladue Crossing as well.

Let's Go Blues!

Thanks a lot,

Fire in Moshav Mevo Modiin

Michael Minoff

Karen Zeff passed this message along as Avi and Tia are made aliyah from St Louis in 1973 during the Yom Kippur War. They were members of Young Israel.

Dear family & friends,

As you probably know, last Thursday was the big forest fire that destroyed the village of Moshav Mevo Modiin. Dear friends of ours, Avi Esterson and Tia Pinsky, have lived on the Moshav for 40 years. Their home, too, was ravaged by the fire.

Avi is a farmer - he's been growing organic produce for both the local market and export. Perhaps you've even eaten his organic avocados. His farm is relatively small, but it's what he loves doing and it has provided them a modest income over the years.

Now, the thing is - not only was their home destroyed, but also his tractor, farming equipment, irrigation systems, cold storage room, packing house, farmhands' quarters, etc. also were destroyed.

They are facing a serious financial crush. Besides coping with the aftermath of the fire, they are scrambling to save what they can of the crops and orchards that survived the blaze. They desperately need to replace the tractor and other agricultural losses ASAP -- every day means additional losses for them.

You know me and I don't often send out letters like this. However, I'm turning to everyone I can to lend them a hand. I've set up a GoFundMe campaign to help them -- click here to read more about their story, see pictures, and, I hope, contribute something to the cause.

If you would like to share this appeal further -- that would be great. Even if you  are unable to contribute anything it will help if you post it on your facebook page or other social media. The page on the GoFundMe site has a Share button you can use.

And don't worry - I won't send reminders (and I hope I'll never need to send a letter like this again).

Thank you,

geneology in SL

Ellen Brummel

My mom lives in SL and I grew up there. I have done some genealogy work on my family name
Dorb, and a few months ago, I found this. What this is saying is that my family name was also
someone who lived in SL and we never heard of these people.
I would like to contact any of that family who are the surviving relatives. Please look at this, and
if you know anyone who is related to them, or have any leads, could you please let me know:
thankyou so much.

Shevuot Night Shiur 12PM - 1 AM at my home

Saturday night, I will deliver my annual Shevuot night shiur. The topic this year is:  The Conversion of Ruth - did she convert before or after she married Naomi's son Machlon. Various opinions are offered by the commentaries on the Tanach as well as the Medrish and Zohar.  However, both opinions raise many difficulties regarding the laws of "garut" conversion. I will focus more on the halachik aspects of each opinion and offer various solutions within the scope of Hilchot Gerut.
Shiur is open to men and women and should finish around 1 AM.  Simple refreshments (tea, coffee, etc.) will be available and if anyone would like to donate refreshments, contact me.
Email me if you need more information.
