Help ALL St. Louis Jewish Children thrive

Do you know that an average of 13% of children have diagnosed special learning needs and that 25% of all students can benefit from support to keep up to grade level in school?

Ohr Atid, Light of the Future, Inc. is a St. Louis based non-profit organization for over 20 years whose purpose is to provide support to enable students with diverse learning needs to succeed in Jewish educational settings and participate meaningfully in our Jewish community. Currently, Ohr Atid offers a Sunday school program with Chabad on Campus.

We would like to expand our programming to include supporting youth in Jewish High Schools with learning needs, and those who need to find Judaic learning opportunities outside of our day schools.

We are also exploring ways of providing support to families of elementary age children who are not able to be in Jewish Day school for educational or behavioral reasons.

We are forming committees of people who can help identify community needs, create programs and support families.
You can make a real difference! If you are a parent of a child who needs support to excel in their learning environment, if you are a Jewish educator with expertise or training in special needs and alternative learning styles, or if you are a community member who wants our community to support Jewish children of all abilities, please reach out to us.

All family contact will be kept confidential.

Help need to assist an older Israel couple.

Meir Zimand

I got this email from Ann Hartstein Pace.
Please let me know if you can help.
Hi Meir, did you see my message from other day? Wondering if you (or someone you know) would be available Sep 3-6 to assist an older Israeli couple who are coming to town. They are the parents of Umberto's work colelague. They need someone to pick them up/drive them around/be able to call on for assistance for whatever might come up. It would be a paid job. Please get back to me soon as possible if interested yourself or have other suggestions for me. Much appreciated!! Best regards-

Housing Needed For SR NCSY Shabbaton

Michael Rovinsky

St. Louis has been chosen to host the Fall SR NCSY Shabbaton, September 15-17. This exciting event will be the first SR Shabbaton in St. Louis in 15 years. We are expecting close to 300 people who will need to be housed. We recognize that this is the Shabbat before Rosh HaShana, but all meals and food will be provided by NCSY. In addition, all NCSY’ers will be bringing sleeping bags and pillows. There will be adult staff with every group of NCSY’ers. All you would need to provide is a floor and a bathroom, and a bed for the staff person(s). This is a great opportunity to both show off St. Louis hospitality and to earn extra merits as we approach Hashem on the Yom HaDin. To sign up to host, please visit For more information, please contact Rabbi Mike at 314-498- 6279 / RovinksyM@... or Sam Zitin at 317-710-0925 SamZ@....
