Tue 8/04/20 11:00am to 12:00pm: Gabe FleisherIn 2011, when he was in third grade, Gabe Fleisher started writing his daily Wake Up to Politics newsletter, which features his analysis of the political news cycle. Today, close to 50,000 worldwide receive his newsletter. In partnership with St. Louis Public Radio, Gabe launched a podcast of the same name in January 2020. Thu 8/06/20 11:00am to 12:00pm: Story Writer's Guild - Maxine Mirowitz Dr. Maxine Mirowitz, a registered yoga teacher and the leader of the Storywriter's Guild, begins a four-part series exploring the power of our personal stories. In the four sessions that meet monthly on the first Thursday of the month, participants will embark on uncovering, writing, and sharing their stories. 15 Participants will receive prompts to inspire their writing as well as opportunities to share their work in a safe and accepting environment. Thu 8/13/20 2:00pm to 3:00pm: Boycotts and the Jews - Russel NeissJoin Russel Neiss, a Jewish educator, technologist and activist and a 2020 recipient of the Covenant Award, one of the highest honors in the field of Jewish education, who will discuss boycotts and the Jews, examining the 1902 Kosher Meat Boycott, the anti-Nazi global Jewish boycott of the 1930's and the 1975 American Jewish boycott of Mexico.
