Birders-

I spent a couple hours birding off the Catecroft access this morning. Bird activity is picking up with a large number of phainopeplas seen throughout the area, small groups of black headed grosbeaks, gallinules and wood ducks grouping in the ponds, and a few western tanagers. Best sightings were two willow flycatchers at separate riparian spots and another unidentified empid near Hwy 49.
