All:
I had a mostly juvenile plumaged Yellow-bellied Sapsucker at Swenson Park this morning. It was a young male, as it had a few red feathers in the throat area. It was first observed in a Chinese pistache in the northeast corner of the park, then flew to a young Deodar cedar adjacent to Alexandria Dr. I also observed an adult male Red-breasted Sapsucker. At Stuart Gibbon Park on Hammer Lane, I had two Townsend’s Warblers associating with a flock of Bushtits. Also had Red-breasted Nuthatches at both parks.
Good birding,
Kurt
