Join leader Kurt Mize for this visit to the scenic area along the Calaveras River above New Hogan Reservoir. This is a good spot for Yellow-breasted Chat, Lazuli Bunting, Rufous-crowned Sparrow, Canyon Wren and others. Meet Kurt at the Country Cafe, 1800 N. Highway 88, in Lockeford at 7:00 a.m to carpool. Carpooling is recommended, as parking space is limited. You should bring sunscreen, water, and a snack. We should finish by noon.
