Black-throated Green Warbler at Oak Grove Park, Ripon

Birders,

Late this morning there was a Black-th Green Warbler at Oak Grove Park in Ripon.  It was in a sizable mixed feeding flock along the river  trail where the mulberry trees are.  I was drawn to the flock by a singing Cassin's Vireo.  In addition to the vireo the flock included at least a dozen Townsend's Warblers, a few Blk-th Grays and about four W Tanagers. Outside of this flock, the forest was exceptionally quiet.  Getting good looks at all of the birds was very difficult as the birds were always feeding high in the canopy of the Valley Oaks.  This was probably part of the same flock Jim Rowoth had a few days ago, so it's possible the birds will stick around.

Good Birding,
David Yee
