Join Srini Raman and Donna Marciano for a field trip to the WTP located in southwest Stanislaus County. We have requested the necessary approval and will meet with the onsite manager at the gate, upon entry all visitors must fill out the liability waiver prior to birding. During spring and fall, this area features good numbers of passerine migrants. The ponds and levees have all of the expected Central Valley wintering and resident waterfowl, levee roads also attract all the expected species of gulls and shorebirds. The last time Stanislaus Audubon conducted a survey at the WTP, they had a count of 72 species, a number we can shoot for. We would like to carpool to limit the number of vehicles at the WTP.
