San Joaquin Audubon held a “pop up” birding trip to River Island in Manteca last Saturday. Henry Koertzen lead a group of 6 around the Lake and then onto the San Joaquin River path. We tallied 35 species between the two areas. Pictures of our domesticated Whooper Swans in the lake are shown below. Saturday mornings weather was delightful, but as the day progressed it was pretty hot!! Should be cooler next time.
