White-throated Swifts 2/15/20

White-throated Swifts are back in the area, with two spotted over Buena Vista Park, at an elevation approximately 750'.

They were seen incidentally in the course of counting a released cluster of 8-10 red Mylar balloons.

For anyone interested in rarely documented nesters in the county, White-throated Swifts are noted annually over hilltops/wooded parks along HWY 101 and may be using drainage ports along the overpasses near Bernal /Potrero Hill.

Give it a look if you're in the area in upcoming weeks as spring rapidly approaches.
