Fort Mason Local Interest

David Assmann

I spent most of the morning in the Battery, which had a steady stream of migrants, including 12 YELLOW WARBLERS, 1 ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER, 2 BULLOCK'S ORIOLES, 6 WESTERN TANAGERS, 1 HOODED ORIOLE, 1 WARBLING VIREO, 1 WESTERN WOOD PEWEE, 1 ASH-THROATED FLYCATCHER and a WILLOW FLYCATCHER. Two LONG-BILLED CURLEW flew by over the Bay (unusual for Fort Mason).  The Garden had a HOUSE WREN and a BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER.  Forgot to mention in yesterday's post the sighting of a WANDERING TATTLER eating a crab.
