Thank you, Brian! Just had them from my porch near Starr King OP - huge and beautiful. Saw three in bins and two in scope just in time. Floated above Corona/Buena Vista then well above Sutro Tower and on south.

The eagles were quite a surprise this afternoon, as I was just sitting down at my desk after a visit to the auto mechanic.  The first eagle was very high, and was entirely dark except the white head and tail.  As it began to circle, I reported it, and then found a second eagle heading toward the first.  This one was also at high altitude, and appeared entirely brown, though the proportions were clearly Bald.  I kept scanning and found the third eagle lower and closer, setting a new five minute record for eagles at home.  As it banked it showed white in the axillaries and coverts, somewhat like a Swainson's Hawk, and I'll readily admit I was disappointed that it wasn't a Swainy!  It circled slowly higher and toward Buena Vista, and while filing my second report, I lost sight of it.  While still watching the sky for further developments, three migrant Turkey Vultures went by, and four local Red-taileds were out enjoying the clarity, hunting and courting.

Yesterday, Pigeon Guillemots were coming in off of the ocean at Sutro Baths, with several stopping nearby, and others heading toward the Golden Gate.  A Red-necked Grebe continues to hang out in the vicinity as well.
