Re: Ocean Beach shorebirds and dead things
Again, deaths should be reported to ACC as they keep track and also determine if there is a disease issue.
Its also compassionate and respectful to have them picked up so their bodies don't get

Ocean Beach shorebirds and dead things
Today seemed like a big shorebird push day on Ocean Beach. While yesterday there were maybe 20 sanderlings and a Western Sandpiper or two, today there were:
90+ Sanderling
12 Western Sandpipers

Re: Guillemots, Gulls, Cowbirds and Crows
I've never witnessed adult cowbirds feeding young, but have often seen young birds feeding themselves in the company of adults of their own species. I've wondered how many days or weeks pass before

Guillemots, Gulls, Cowbirds and Crows
Mostly I've been birding in the South Beach/Mission Bay area, so this may be mostly of local interest.
The Pigeon Guillemots continue at Pier 48. They do go in and out of holes in the pier, but I

Dramatic but odd sight
Here’s a weird one. I was just driving north on 101 near the dump and saw a mob of crows appear to attack another bird. The bird fell to the freeway and as I drove by I saw it was a dead Canadian

Adding my +1 to Mick's suggestion to avoid acronyms for locations, banding codes etc, unless necessary (or unless they are already expanded in the body of an email). With more people joining this list

Seawatch this morning, 7/12/20 + some recent observations
This morning I did a seawatch (7:25-10:05 AM) from the south end of the Great Highway. Moderate/increasing SW winds, choppy ocean surface, partly cloudy, excellent visibility out to the horizon.

AMRE at arboretum continues
Sorry for the hasty and incorrect abbreviation. My excitement got the best of me. Hopefully you saw my pin. Still being seen now with several other birders. Immature male. Chipping loudly.

To me as a new member to the group it would be best to use full names because I wouldn’t be familiar with any of the abbreviations….
Thanks
