Correction to my earlier post reg. Crissy Field sighting
Earlier I wrote:
"I encountered my first pocket gopher up close at the visitor center, but also spotted two pair of Common Merganser"
Which of course is wrong. They were Red-breasted

FerryPark Grackle and misc belated
Today while at the farmers market the GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE was out front calling in a small tree. The call was so familiar and reminded me of farmers markets in Tucson, AZ.

I did some birding last Saturday and it took me all week to edit down the images.
Starting at Stowe Lake, I photographed 4 GBH nesting in the trees there. One appears to have an injury to the throat
