The annual San Francisco City Cumulative list for 2018 ended at a currently unofficial total of 301 species.
This total was six species higher than the previous total from 2015 of 295 species. These are the only two years with totals in excess of 288 species. Full details are here:
There are still possibilities for additional species to be added including currently unconfirmed Northern Saw-whet Owl, Mourning Warbler and Virginia's Warbler.
Highlight of the year must surely have been the Broad-billed Hummingbird from Feb 2018.
Three new species were added to the overall City List including:
The city list total ended at 424 species.
The county species list ended at 491 species.
Big misses for the year included Harlequin Duck, Common Merganser, normally seen most years but not in 2018.
