Log cabin trail migrants

Brian Turner

I observed an assortment of migrants on a stroll down the log cabin trail in Golden Gate Park this a.m. from 7:30-8:15: Black-Headed Grosbeak, Western Wood Pewee, Pacific Slope Flycatcher, and a male Western Tanager in breeding plumage. The tanager was high in the eucs on the west near the Japanese tea garden and flew to the north.

Also of note, yesterday a Common Yellowthroat was singing at Elk Glen Lake.

Good birding,
Brian Turner
