Today, 1 April the male HARLEQUIN DUCK was on North Dome Rock visible with
a scope from Sutro Observation Deck (Point Lobos).

Also of interest was a male Elephant Seal swimming offshore.

Dear Birder,
The Harlequin Duck is in the same location as of 3pm, today 3/23. This time among 40 Willets, a Marbled Godwit, Surf birds and other regulars.

This morning, from the observation deck at the Cliff House, I saw a male Harlequin Duck on the north-most Seal Rock.  It was on a pretty sheer area just above the waterline.  There were a few Brandt's Cormorants near it.  It was gone by about 10.  Probably the same bird that's frequently reported from the area around Mile Rock.
Other birds were just what is expected around Seal Rocks.
Good birding,Dan Murphy
