Fort Mason Local Interest

Most of activity was in the garden again this morning with a continuing NASHVILLE WARBLER, a calling HOUSE WREN, a brief appearance by the BULLOCK'S ORIOLE, and a WHITE-THROATED SPARROW.  Birds would periodically disappear when a COOPER'S HAWK appeared.  A RED-TAILED HAWK stayed in and around the garden practically the entire morning. There were at least two ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERS in the garden.  A GREAT HORNED OWL was preening in the palm tree behind the General's House and a MERLIN flew over Aquatic Park.
