Bluebird on Belvedere St.

Allan Ridley

Yesterday, Helen & I first heard, then observed a male Western Bluebird on Belvedere St. at the corner of Alma St. It was feeding on the white berries of a Dracena "palm" that is growing there.
(These "palms" or "cabbage trees" sport large clusters of white berries during the winter that are enjoyed by a variety of species in my experience. These trees were once widely planted as "decco" street trees.)
