Is this a windows laptop?
Delete your mumble connection on your laptop and try again. Make sure you create a new unique user name like laptop1. If you get a prompt to accept a certificate

The lsusb didn't actually do anything, just confirmed what the pi was seeing. Another check would be run
ls -l /dev/ttyUSB* <enter>
In a terminal after plugging in your usb-232 adaptor.

If you to want to see what RigPi thinks it is open a terminal and type
lsusb <enter>
Now plug it in and do lsusb again.
The difference will be what the pi thinks it is.
