Don sorry I had not been following all the thread on this post.  Just a couple quick questions .
1. are you having the same problem with a mouse connected directly to the RSS ( when you hit the ptt button on the local browser does if function?
2. are you accessing the RSS from internal meaning a device across your local lan?
3. Are you accessing the RSS from outside via the internet?
Thanks Tom W5KUB

Thanks for the suggestions.  I am still not able to key the TS2000.  The changes made in #2594 seemed to improve the ability to get the PTT light on the RSS to illuminate, but it does not happen every time I touch the PTT GUI or the space bar.  Sometimes I get no light; sometimes a light that stays on; sometimes a light in sync with touching the PTT/Spacebar.  It is not consistent. The time lag is seconds...sometimes 20 seconds and sometimes not at all.   In no case has the RSS actually keyed the transmitter.   I also tried the suggestions in #2618.  I uninstalled and reinstalled Mumble.  I checked to see that the TS2000 (menu 56) is set at 57,600.  I changed the Mumble transmission setting to Voice Activated.  It has had no impact.

At this point, I have followed each item.  I can POWER ON/OFF, change the frequency, band and mode.  I just can not key.

Other ideas?

This is a list of macros that I've been working on. They all work on the IC-7300. I have the Icom IC-7610 hooked up to the RigPi but, most of the macros either wouldn't work or were so long that they ate up the 2000 character allotment. Howard told Bob that he could tell the RigPi that his IC-7610 was an IC-7300 and everything should work (
https://groups.io/g/RigPi/topic/33061155#2626). I followed this advice and it did work. Still trying to discover more macros for the IC-7300. This is all new to me! If you have any more, please let me know. Hope these work for you.

Re: Are the Signallink USB cables the same as the RigPi?

Hi Bob,

I have and use both the signalink and the 1234, moving the cable between the two.  Both boxes have internal headers that follow the same basic pin out, and if your jumpers are placed the same in each box, the cable will work with either.  My rig is a TS-2000 and I am using the rear connector of the radio.

I was looking at the Power on/off issue too, there is a newer TS-590 CAT guide that speaks to that.
It was version 4 of the CAT guide from Kenwood, as I recall.
That guide mentioned that the TS-590 can be put into 2 different modes of Standby, and that it is never fully turned off.
It leaves the USB ports and processor in low power mode but able to receive a CAT command to turn on.
Then the CAT power on command needs to be "padded" with extra characters for time to "awaken" the processor and then the Power ON command will work when sent.

I understand about the Macro button. I´m just posting my first tests to maybe in future this PTT for TS 590 could be modified or improved.
Thanks for all help so far. I will continue some testing from remote location and see how it works. I need tor read again about the Power ON button and see if it will work.

Re: Kenwood TS 590 and no modulation when using remote.

Loic,

The reason you have no modulation when you press PTT on the remote device is that it is sending the CAT command TX0;
TX0; is the command to "Transmit using the microphone audio" and you really want to use USB audio. It is much simpler, once the hurdles are overcome.
That was the reason that we made the Macro button that contained
*W TX1;
This is the CAT command for a TS-590S/SG to "use the TX audio from the USB port"
I suspect that we shall need to modify the PTT (momentary transmit so long as the button is held down)
and the T/R button (latching transmit until the T/R button is pressed again) on the RigPi that you are using to send that TX1; CAT command.
That will be the modification that TS-590S/SG users will need in order to have seamless operation.
I don't know why this was not clear to me earlier, but alas, I am still learning too!
Let me look at the notes on modifying the buttons as I don't recall that process from memory.

I got modulation now when I press "TX USB" But there are a big delay to get ptt to close with "PTT button.

At moment not 100% usable remote.

Normal PTT works much much better but then I have no modulation.

PF A alone TX but no TX Audio.
Macro 21 button pressed TX but no TX audio

When I configure sound at Mumble at remote. I can hear my voice.
Meny is set to above value.
Only way to get Tx audio is to plug in a microphone in front of radio.

I noticed when I start Rigpi now. I got a sound for 20 sec then stops. Maybe nothing to do with this problem.

Yes, but only PF A, not PTT at the same time.

Also can you try pressing the button that is Macro 21 and talking into the remote device?
Any TX audio at the radio and does the radio go into transmit mode?

You have set menu #79 to 205 in the radio, right?

I have tried PF A key when pressing PTT and talking. No Modulation.

Re: Kenwood TS 590 and no modulation when using remote.

OK, can you try this, press the PF A key on the top left of the radio while you talk into your remote device, if that is possible.
Do you have transmit audio then?

Hi Mark,
Yes I one USB cable  and the MFJ cable for TS 590s for ACC2 connector at back of the radio.

I have now only the USB Cable. Until now. No difference still no modulation.
Audio is still good.

Re: Kenwood TS 590 and no modulation when using remote.

One VERY important thing to know about Mumble settings.

When changes are made to the Mumble client on the RigPi, those changes are lost on reboot if not "saved" using this method.
Once the desired settings are applied, OK'ed and done, then you must close the Mumble client on the RigPi.
After the Mumble client has been closed on the RigPi, you can reboot the RigPi and the new settings will be retained.
It must be done in that order though, otherwise, the settings are not retained.
If you simply reboot the RigPi without closing the Mumble client first, the settings are lost and the last settings are applied.
Once you have followed this simple process, they are permanently saved.

Re: Kenwood TS 590 and no modulation when using remote.

Loic,

Do you have then 2 cables from the RigPi to the TS-590S?

I can understand if you do, it is because this RigPi can be connected so many different ways, and none of them is wrong.
The only trouble is sometimes that there can be confusion where the audio for TX and RX and even the PTT is coming to and fro.
And in my thinking, the USB cable is so simple once it is fully configured.
It carries both RX and TX audio plus the serial data for CAT control which includes PTT.

So, for some first tests, can we reduce to just one cable, the USB A to B cable only from the RigPi to the radio.
Then, with that, do you still have good receive audio?

And about Power on and off with the TS-590S. My remembrance is that it can be turned off, but that it did not turn back on using the RigPi button.
It may be that a Macro can be made to do that, but I use another method to turn gear on, so I did not spend any time on that before.
We can visit that at the end, but first, let us work on the audio.

On Output I changed to sndpriproto. Apply and Ok. I tested it on earphones on TX out and nothing Heard in earphones. I rebooted RigpI and output goes back to CODEC. I tried two times but goes back to CODEC maybe normal.
