Allen,

I run my rigpi off an SSD for the data files. It still boots off of an SD card so the boot partition is on SD and the rest of the files are on SSD and I noticed a significant improvement in speed. I also moved everything to an RPI 4 2gig pi.

COMMENTARY FROM WEB ON SSD DRIVE USAGE:

With ssd you can theoretically hit 5 Gbps / 620 MBps. In the real world you’d be lucky to get half of that, but you still attain speeds that are three or four times faster on tasks that matter.

Here’s the file read/write speeds for before and after - NOTE that I’d upgraded to a higher speed SD card too before this migration.
