I too have an Ender 3 (with homebrew upgrades). Think of Creality as the Baofeng of 3d printing. Gets 'er done.

KiCad suite has a cool 3d preview mode. Same can be used to export the cad files for a case to be built around it. In theory can be done without the board in hand.
