Q: can I use the native onboard pi audio I/o for fldigi-based modes? do i have to use an external usb sound dongle? The digital modes are not super hifi, so would the Pi audio work as is? This is what

I wrote this a while ago about Fldigi on Pi. You don’t need an external dongle. http://blog.pwcares.org/?p=271 --- David A. Lane, KG4GIY EC/RO Prince William County ARES®/RACES +1.703.628.3868 http://

I don’t think you’ll get any sound in with that setup. You would need a USB sound card/dongle to get both sound in and out. The USB sound dongle is one I use successfully.

The Signalink is your USB sound card then and that should work fine. The point is that the onboard pi audio isn’t capable. You’ll need an external device. A USB sound card (though you’ll have the PTT

So in a uBITX under rig control, the TX function is done by the rig control (FT817 emulation) via USB, so there is no PPT in the audio side. I’m going to assume that a Pi works the same way with FLDIG

I have had time to go through this very thoroughly now. The problem I have remains to be decoding packets with the Pi9K6. It is transmitting beautifully and being decoded by everything I can listen to
