Pull power from Raspberry PI without shutdown
Similarly, I'll be separating the running OS from data. Maybe use a local (fit) thumb drive or even write to a resource on the network. Then when the OS card gets corrupt - it won't (usually) take any

rPI Raspbian Jessie NOOBS 1.8 PING doesn't work ??
This is strange. Is it a change to the newer rPI software to restrict ping? The 'dated' rPI I'm running has ping in /bin and open to use by every user. Bill

Pi 3 My take
You could have a PI with a GPS as a dedicated time source for the other PI. This would probably be a good use for the Pi-0. Bill

Problem running pitnc_getparams
That's the problem - you need to hook up a radio. Then two or three more. Bill

Raspberry Pi/Tnc-Pi with Kantronix KPC3 Combo
I saw lots of these back when I was using a long serial cable between the TNC in one room and the computer in another - and I was beaconing APRS on 10,151 HF.. The cable was too long and picking up in

I still consider it the richest cross band digipeater tool with links to many other functions. We have the source so we can keep it going. APRX is probably better for most applications but digi-ned is

Here's a new SDR for the RPI for 40... That should make a great WSPR rig. http://www.radwav.com/new-products.html

Isn't it better for folks to do radio stuff and learn these things than to not do radio stuff and just watch cats with light sabers on youtube? I think this is a great project and I'm looking forward
